    Dear Colleague,

Dr Philippe Deprez

Alongside people’s growing need for youthfulness and health, information-seeking in this respect has become the "Holy Grail" of the start of this millennium. We generally have a fairly clear idea of what we want to know, but we cannot always locate the trustworthy source that will deliver up the information to us.

Although we all yearn for this information, we find ourselves swamped under a mass of general considerations served up to us daily, to the point where it has become impossible even to skim through just some of the publications on offer.

Many questions are thus left unanswered and our doubts can in no way be settled by the "junk literature", by which I mean that stuff we throw away before even reading it, thus making us unable to make any kind of judgement about its content or its quality.

Moreover, the articles that reach us every day deal with questions that are often of no interest to us at the time, which is why more and more of us look to the Internet for more accurate, extra information about our practice.

In the course of this computerized quest, we are sometimes surprised to discover other unexpected horizons, horizons at times virtual to the point of having not the least scientific consistency because, unfortunately, there is no quality control to guarantee what is published therein, and the more serious information is often to be found alongside the saddest and most lamentable ravings of psychopaths more or less advanced down the road of their madness.

Such sensationalist pseudo-information shows an increasing tendency to base itself upon other articles for support, citing them as evidence so as to create a story that seems solid enough at first glance but that is in fact based on an obnoxious mixture of oil and shifting sands.

In this information letter we have chosen to remain highly specific; the letter will thus deal only with precise points concerning the use of the products developed by Skin Tech®.

We have chosen here to put across only information of direct interest to users, in the form of short articles in answer to questions raised by doctors, dermatologists and surgeons worldwide.

Finally, this newsletter will be kept "confidential", in the sense that it will be sent only to doctors who use Skin Tech® products, who will have an access code – yet another – to the Web site www.estetik.com/focus/, which will compile and gradually release the various installments.

For this reason I hope you will not undertake a "vertical classification" of this extra information, and that it will provide you with some answers to questions that you have stopped asking or that you have put to one side due to lack of time for devoting your attention to them.

I hope you receive this first newsletter without any problem and I look forward to receiving your questions and/or suggestions at focus@estetik.com
